Covid-19 has put a toll on small businesses around the world. With Omicron ripping through our country, more and more people opt to not eat out. Kinsmen Brewery and Pizza Of Cheshire Connecticut is feeling the full effect of it. The fun vibes and live bands are no more. At one time, there are no more than 2 tables filled in the large warehouse-like building. But there is one noise that rings through the building. Grub hub and Door Dash orders spew out of an Ipad creating an ear-piercing ringing noise. The future of dining is changing right in front of our eyes. Grub hub, Door Dash, and Uber Eats are the new ways of conveniently dining on your favorite food. Although these apps threaten the old school culture of Kinsmen, It does add a new dimension to business. The business has been better since adding this feature. It is so much more convenient to order food with a tap of your finger rather than driving to the desired place. These apps do have their cons on busy days. Door dash and Grub hub drivers seem to show up 15 minutes early every time slowing down the efficiency of the business. During busy days where there are a lot of people actually at the restaurant, these apps halt the arrival of in-person food because of how fast the drivers come compared to what the app says and the sheer volume of the orders. The future of in-person dining is changing right before our eyes and many old school establishments are facing huge changes.
