In looking at the effectiveness that capital investment can have on urban neighborhoods, we have analyzed similar case studies conducted in cities like Hartford. In looking at data gathered by financial analysts we came across a case study conducted on poorer neighborhoods in Philadelphia concluded that neighborhoods receiving investment compared to those that did not, saw an increase in both number of residents employed and median income levels (Walker 2014). After looking at the data we have collected and qualitatively analyzing these Hartford neighborhoods, we believe investment towards them is key to the further growth and strengthening of the communities.
