About Our Project

The Liberal Arts Action Lab (LAAL) Student Success Project is a collaboration of Trinity and Capital Community College students, in partnership with the West Indian Foundation (WIF). The Student Success Project team has been researching the experience of English-speaking students who start school in the West Indies and then finish their K-12 education in Hartford or Bloomfield Public Schools. In looking at the experiences of these students, we are trying to gauge how they acclimated to the public schools and what the process of enrollment was like for the students and their families.
