In constructing our survey we didn’t include a question regarding repairs, as we did not know the frequency and significance of repairs issues. 50% of our respondents indicated poor housing conditions, ranging from no heat, mice, water and/or electrical damage, mold, bed bugs, and physical damage. Tenants would repeatedly contact their landlords to resolve these housing issues yet they go consistently overlooked and unresolved. There are not many options to navigate repair issues for tenants in Connecticut without increasing their chances for eviction. We created this info-graphic to explain our findings, as well as an overview of the common repair issues, including some photo evidence to give our findings context.
