The Park Street Library @ the Lyric

Park Street Library @ the Lyric

The original Park Street Library, called Park Street Lyric Theater, was first established in May 1928 in a small, rented store at 876 Park Street. After moving briefly to Broad Street and then again to another address on Park, it now stands on 744 Park Street, completely renovated and named The Park Street Library @ the Lyric the largest Hartford Public Library branch standing at 13,000 square feet. The location of the new library is significant because it stands in the same place as the historic Lyric theater which had been a part of the Frog Hollow neighborhood for more than 100 years. The library serves as a resource for residents in the neighborhood, providing not only books, but online access, printing, second language courses etc. Its location also suits the walking distance nature of the neighborhood
